A high-stakes folk dance competition. A blood-stained clue. A cat with a nose for murder.

Ex-Army officer Addison Carr thought her surprise inheritance, a café and house, in Lilac Ridge, PA would begin a quiet new life chapter. Instead, her Jeep damaged dodging a rogue orange tabby, leaves her trapped at Woods Inn in Maryland during regional folk dancing competition.

Rusty—the feline she never asked for but now can’t shake—delivers a blood-stained hair tie that leads Addison straight to a body in the woods. The Police call it an accidental mishap. Addison calls it murder.

Seems all the competitors have their own secrets—especially ambitious inn keepers, Richard and Eliza, also high-strung competitors— seem too polished for comfort. And Liam, the sponsor’s charming liaison, seems more interested in silencing questions than answering them.

As secrets swirl beneath the sound of fiddles, Addison finds herself in a deadly dance. If she doesn’t solve the mystery fast, she might just be the next one to take a final bow.
